Spirit Blockchain’s (CSE: SPIR) wholly owned subsidiary, Spirit Digital AG, is shortly launching its first exchange-traded products (ETPs) on the SIX Swiss Exchange and Deutsche Borse Frankfurt. This is a major event for the company, essentially bridging traditional finance and the blockchain space.
The first ETPs to hit the market under the Spirit banner are The Spirit Ethereum Yield+ ETP and the Spirit Solana Yield+ ETP. These products let investors capture staking rewards within an “institutional-grade” vehicle. In essence, they are bringing decentralized finance (DeFi) into a fully regulated and transparent exchange listed entity.
These ETPs will be Swiss-domiciled, fully collateralized, backed by the underlying digital assets – and fully liquid. They are built for both the retail and institutional investor. And they are meant to be very attractive in order to attract AUM.
What do investors get from these ETPs?:
- Best-in-class infrastructure
- Regulatory oversight
- Top shelf blockchain expertise
CEO Lewis Bateman calls the offering “just the beginning” – and his Chief Investment Officer calls it a “game changer.” Clearly, this launch is very, very important to the company.
What Spirit Blockchain is building is a great framework for bringing forth new and diversified digital asset products. And the model looks both cost efficient and easily scalable.
A few things to remember:
- As a registered financial institution, Spirit Blockchain can take money in from almost anywhere.
- It doesn’t take many employees to run Spirit Blockchain’s model. It is highly efficient.
- The name of the game now is asset-gathering.
Another key item is that Spirit Blockchain has a long-standing partnership with Vaulta (formerly EOS Network). They were the beneficiary of a strategic investment from Vaulta – which came with BoD representation. Now that Vaulta has launched brand new extensive Web3 operations, definitely one can see Spirit Blockchain – with their all-important licensing – benefitting in a big way from an AUM standpoint.
With all the moves they are making, it will be very interesting in the coming months to see all the new products Spirit Blockchain launches. And most importantly, how they progress in the all important battle for AUM.
