White House Communications Director Steven Cheung teased rapper Nicki Minaj as a possible press secretary Sunday, posting a video of her aboard Air Force One with a playful announcement.
In the video, Cheung questions Minaj across a conference table, and she speaks well of President Donald Trump’s record. Cheung closes it by saying, “We may have found the new White House Press Secretary”.
Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary! @NICKIMINAJ pic.twitter.com/petoprxVoX

Neither the White House nor Minaj has acknowledged whether they are moving in this direction.
The tease follows the five-day tenure of Katie Zacharia, whom Trump picked about a week earlier to succeed Karoline Leavitt. Critics panned her only briefing on October 13, and her claim to be a lawyer even after admitting she failed the California bar exam in 2011. Trump said he urged her to reconsider and faulted the press as “so nasty to her.” At the time, it was reported that Trump sees no rush to name a replacement.
Minaj traveled with Trump to a rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday, days before the November 3 midterm elections. Trump introduced her with a crude remark about her body and said he hoped she was not insulted. Minaj pledged to the crowd that her support would continue.
