A Man Was Caught Peeing into a Tank of Beer at a Tsingtao Facility
Chinese beer manufacturer Tsingtao Brewery has taken action in response to a viral video that surfaced on the social media platform Weibo, showing an individual in uniform urinating into one of the company’s storage tanks.
The video, which has been viewed tens of millions of times since it was first posted on Thursday, prompted Tsingtao to contact authorities and launch an investigation.
In an official statement, Tsingtao expressed the utmost importance of addressing the issue promptly. The company assured the public that the affected batch of malt had been sealed off and was no longer in use. Public security authorities have been engaged to probe the matter further.
“The company places high importance on the media reports and has reported the matter to the public security authorities at the first opportunity. The public security authorities are presently involved in the investigation,” the company said.
Tsingtao Brewery, China’s second-largest brewer, did not confirm whether the person in the video was an employee. Nonetheless, the company emphasized that its production and operations were continuing without disruption.
The incident briefly impacted Tsingtao’s stock value on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, but it later recovered.
