Alphamin Increases Inferred Tin Resources By 46% At Mpama South

Just three months after filing its maiden resource for the Mpama South Project, Alphamin Resources Corp (TSXV: AFM) has updated its resource estimate, increasing its inferred resources substantially. The project consists of a high-grade tin project, found in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The updated resource estimate for Mpama South consists of the following:

  • 21,400 tonnes of tin on an indicated basis, within 0.84 million tonnes at 2.53%
  • 124,700 tonnes of tin on an inferred basis, within 4.99 million tonnes at 2.50%

The updated resource estimate is based on an additional 22 extension drill holes being added to the resource calculation, with additional in-fill drilling currently in progress and slated for completion next month. Extension drilling meanwhile is set to restart this month at the project.

The complete resource estimate is now based on a total of 124 drill holes conducted on the property. A further 27 drill holes have not yet been added to the estimate, which were not assayed before the estimate was completed. Those holes were drilled within and beyond the current limits of the resource estimate, with a revised estimate to be released next quarter.

Early development work for Mpama South are reportedly in progress. Once production commences, the company is expected to increase its current annual tin production from 12,000 tonnes per annum, to 20,000 tonnes per annum, representing roughly 6.6% of globally mined tin as per company estimates.

Alphamin Resources last traded at $1.05 on the TSX Venture.
