Behind Trump’s Pledge To Never, Ever Ride A Bicycle After Biden Fall

In case anyone was concerned, former President Donald Trump has pledged to never, ever ride a bicycle.

The remark follows after President Joe Biden fell off his bicycle on Saturday while on vacation in Delaware.

“I hope [Biden] has recovered because as you know, he fell off his bicycle. No, I’m serious. I hope he’s okay. Fell off a bicycle,” Trump said his American Freedom tour in Memphis, Tennesse.

Shortly after the tumble, Biden told reporters that he’s good, and explained that his shoe got caught in the pedal. A White House official then said that the president “is fine. No medical attention is needed. The President looks forward to spending the rest of the day with his family.”

At the same event, and right before making his pledge to never, ever ride a bicycle, Trump called to “erase the calamities of the Biden years,” and said that it’s a travesty to see how “Biden has no clue [about] how to be the president of the United States.”

Trump has been heavily hinting at a 2024 US presidential bid ever since he wasn’t US president anymore, and has, in a recent interview said that he was “very close to making a decision” about it, but some analysts think that this could be a problem for the GOP.

“Anything, and I mean anything, that takes the focus off the miserable job Joe Biden is doing is bad for Republicans,” according to Josh Holmes, co-host of Ruthless, a conservative-leaning podcast and former chief of staff to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), as told to David M. Drucker of the Washington Examiner.

But Trump will likely do what he wants to do. The past few weeks, the former US president has been talking a lot about the House select committee tasked to investigate the January 6 Capitol riots, even calling it a “theatrical production of partisan political fiction,” and the hearings a “witch hunt.”
