Blackrock Gold Hits 2,215 G/T Silver Equivalent At Tonopah West In Further Drilling

Blackrock Gold Corp (TSXV: BRC) this morning released further results from its drill program at its Tonopah West project in Western Nevada. Recent drill results have hosted highlights of 1,577 g/t silver equivalent over 4.6 metres, including 3.0 metres of 2,215 g/t silver equivalent. The same drill hole, TW20-006, also intersected a second vein that assayed 1.5 metres of 1,670 g/t silver equivalent, demonstrating the quality of the property.

The exploration program has now seen roughly 10,000 metres of drilling completed on the property, during what was originally intended to only be a 7,000 metre drill campaign. Strong prior results however resulted in the program being expanded to a total of 20,000 metres for the current season.

Previously, results only from TW20-001, or the first drill hole, were provided by the company. Results for additional holes include:

  • TW20-003 reported 329 g/t silver equivalent over 1.5 metres
  • TW20-005 reported 345.33 g/t silver equivalent over 1.5 metres
  • TW20-007 reported 386.80 g/t silver equivalent over 1.5 metres
  • TW20-008 reported 561.64 g/t silver equivalent over 1.5 metres

Drilling is currently focusing on what the company refers to as the DPB target, which includes the Denver, Paymaster and Bermuda veins. A core drill has been mobilized to site as of August 20, with step out drilling already having commenced on the first drill hole in the Victor Vein. Further drilling in the region is expected to be completed by mid September, with additional core holes planned for early fall. After this, the core drill will be moved to the DPB target to assist with in-fill drilling and target delination.

Blackrock Gold last traded at $1.26 on the TSX Venture.
