Forum Energy Metals Mobilizes For 10,000 Metre Drill Program In Thelon Basin
Forum Energy Metals (TSXV: FMC) is set to see a large drill program get underway at its Aberdeen Uranium project, which is found in the Thelon Basin of Nunavut.
The company as of today has begun mobilizing equipment and a second drill rig to the project in advance of a 10,000 metre drill program that is scheduled to begin in June. The program is designed as a follow-up to a 2023 campaign that intersected 2.25% U3O8 over 11.1 metres and outlined mineralization over a 200 metre strike length.
The wholly owned Aberdeen project is comprised of 40 claims covering 53,402 acres of land in Nunavut. Previously operated by Cameco from 2008 through to 2012, the project is believed to contain significant uranium mineralization. Notably, the project is on-trend with the Kiggavik uranium deposit operated by Orano, which has a historic indicated resource amounting to 127.3 million pounds at a grade of 0.47% U3O8.
“We are excited to commence our 2024 exploration program in Nunavut starting with the large task of moving our drill camp, second drill and consumables overland from Baker Lake to our new Aberdeen Camp.”
The drill program is expected to amount to between 30 and 40 drill holes.
Forum Energy Metals last traded at $0.115 on the TSX Venture.
