Gatekeeper Systems Sees Second Major Order For New Mobile Wi-Fi System

Orders continue to come in for a new product recently launched by Gatekeeper Systems (TSXV: GSI). The firm this morning announced that it has received a second purchase order for its mobile wi-fi system that has been designed for installation on school buses.

The latest contract amounts to $335,000 in total, and includes a twelve month service contract which may be renewed for up to five years. The order comes from an undisclosed school district, who intends to equip their fleet with the mobile wi-fi product.

The product, which was first announced last week with an initial $0.6 million purchase order, is designed to provide students with 4G and 5G internet while being transported to and from school. An added feature enables the buses to be parked in neighbourhoods that typically have low internet connection rates, from which it can provide students in the area with an active connection via the school districts network, which features network security and content filters.

“This is the second progressive school district that has recently embraced our Mobile Wi-Fi System as part of their enhanced student learning program. It’s an effective solution to assist students who don’t have acceptable broadband at home and gives students the opportunity to focus on their schoolwork during the bus ride, which in turn reduces bus driver distractions,” commented CEO Doug Dyment on the announcement.

Gatekeeper Systems last traded at $0.33 on the TSX Venture.
