Gatekeeper Systems Launches New Product With Initial $0.6 Million Purchase Order

Gatekeeper Systems (TSXV: GSI) has launched a new product as it looks to enhance its offerings within the smart transportation segment. The offering, referred to as Gatekeeper Mobile Wi-Fi System, has been designed to enhance connectivity both or students and authorized users.

The new product is part of a new initiative that is focused on enabling both 4G and 5G broadband access for students, with an emphasis on those that don’t currently have sufficient access at home. The system enables access while transporting students, and can also provide access when strategically parked in neighbours with low connectivity rates to provide access to such students at home.

Given that the mobile wifi system is designed for integration on school buses, the system will be subject to content filters and network infrastructure similar to that of the learning environment, given that access is routed through the school’s network. This also enables school-content to be accessed that is firewall protected.

Further, the company has already received its first purchase order for the new offering, with the firm receiving a $560,000 purchase order to equip a fleet of buses within a school district with the new tech. The agreement comes with a 12 month service contract, which can be extended to five years.

“Increasing broadband access for students is an important priority for the Biden administration and we have carefully designed our Mobile Wi-Fi System to help address this priority. We are very pleased that a progressive school district has already embraced our Mobile Wi-Fi System as part of their enhanced student learning initiative,” commented Doug Dyment, President and CEO of Gatekeeper.

Gatekeeper Systems last traded at $0.325 on the TSX Venture.
