GoviEx Uranium Plans 35 Hole Exploration Program Across Muntanga

GoviEx Uranium (TSXV: GXU) is looking to expand their overall resource profile, with the company this morning announcing that it has launched its 2025 field season. The program aims to conduct exploration at the Muntanga project in Zambia, where the company is in search of new deposits to bolster project economics.

The exploration program is set to consist of 3,500 metres of drilling on site, which is expected to result in a total of 35 holes being drilled across four high priority areas. These areas are said to range from near mine targets to targets found 70 kilometres to the south east of Muntanga.

Initial drilling will focus on Muntanga East, where ten shallow holes are planned. The target, five kilometres to the east of Muntanga, has historical intercepts over a radiometric anomaly. Current concepts estimate two to four million pounds of U3O8 exists here, at grades ranging from 150 to 350 ppm.

Five holes are then planned for the Dibbwi deposit, where modeling suggests the potential for expanded mineralization. A concurrent trenching program is also planned for Dibbwi South, which is to occur over radon anomalies that are similar to the current Dibbwi deposit. Exploration is also planned for the Kariba Valley mining license, which hosts the same Karoo sedimentary package as the Muntanga and Dibbwi deposits yet has seen no follow up drilling occur.

“After years of detailed feasibility and engineering work, we are super excited to refocus our geologic team on exploration and discovery. The Muntanga project already stands on a solid resource foundation, but what really inspires us is the opportunity to grow it – both near the existing deposits and through Kariba Valley, which we believe could be a true game-changer,” commented Govind Friedland, Executive Chairman of GoviEx.

GoviEx last traded at $0.065 on the TSX Venture.
