GR Silver Mining (TSXV: GRSL) has encountered a high grade epithermal silver system at the San Marcial Area of their Plomosas Project in Sinaloa, Mexico. The system was discovered following a step-out focused drill program was conducted in an effort to grow known resources.
Highlights from the results include:
- SMS25-09: 293 g/t silver equivalent (260 g/t silver, 0.1 g/t gold, 0.2% lead and 0.5% zinc) over 75.2 metres from a depth of 263.9 metres
- Including 1,915 g/t silver equivalent (1,853 g/t silver, 0.04 g/t gold, 0.3% lead and 1.0% zinc) over 6.4 metres from a depth of 296.8 metres
- And including 1,759 g/t silver equivalent (1,363 g/t silver, 1.10 g/t gold, 2.42% lead and 5.4% zinc) over 1.8 metres from a depth of 336.5 metres
The assay results from hole SMS25-09 are said to have expanded the mineralized footprint, extending mineralization by 100 metres below the previous resource outline at the SE Deep Extension Target. Drilling was conducted here following a 3D geophysical anomaly being identified that suggested continuity of the high grade mineralized structure.
Mineralization here is said to remain open down-dip, with geological and geochemical studies pointing to the presence of a large silver-rich system that is linked to a regional porphyry intrusion setting.

“Guided by advanced geological work and 3D modelling, this first-ever step-out drilling campaign has successfully tested extensions of the San Marcial epithermal silver rich system. The transition of mineralization with depth, highlighted by changes in alteration and lithology, supports our interpretation of a robust epithermal system hosted along the northern edge of a large, regional porphyry intrusive setting. The results demonstrate significant potential for future resource growth, marking a key milestone that opens the door for continued expansion beyond current boundaries,” commented GR Silver CEO Marcio Fonseca.
Results remain outstanding for three additional holes being conducted as part of the step out drill program.
GR Silver Mining last traded at $0.20 on the TSX Venture.
