Intrepid Metals Hits 0.68% Copper Over 193 Metres At Corral Copper Project
Intrepid Metals (TSXV: INTR) has seen success under its initial drill program at the Corral Copper property in Arizona. The firm this morning reported results on an initial twelve holes conducted at the property, which were conducted as part of a 5,000 metre drill campaign.
The drill program is focused on the Holliday, Earp, and Ringo zones, which collectively are part of a 3.0 kilometre long trend of near surface carbonate replacement and supergene enrichment oxide copper-gold-silver-zinc mineralization. Highlights from the results include:
- CC24_001: 0.52% copper, 0.35 g/t gold (0.73% copper equivalent) over 124.00 metres from 10 metres depth
- CC24_005: 0.56% copper, 0.14 g/t gold (0.62% copper equivalent) over 34.80 metres from 42.75 metres depth
- CC24_011: 0.68% copper and 0.33 g/t gold (0.83% copper equivalent) over 193.15 metres from 27.00 metres depth
- Including 1.17% copper, 0.55 g/t gold (1.42% copper equivalent) over 105.20 metres
- Including 2.24% copper, 0.97 g/t gold (2.58% copper equivalent) over 48.85 metres
- CC24_012: 0.57% copper, 0.22 g/t gold (0.64% copper equivalent) over 159.65 metres from 28.35 metres depth
“The quantity and tenor of gold in our intersections sets Corral Copper apart from typical Arizona copper deposits. The economic geology of the Ringo Zone is significant because drilling has yielded tens of meters of massive and semi-massive magnetite and hematite below the copper zones that open new possibilities on the origin of the deposit, as well as providing opportunities to guide future geophysical work and drill targeting,” commented Chris Osterman, geological advisor to Intrepid.
The drill program to date has seen a total of 18 holes drilled for a total of 3,300 metres in aggregate. The company is currently testing a footprint of 3.5 kilometres by 1.5 kilometres at the Corral Copper project, in an attempt to identify economic CRD, skarn, and porphyry copper mineralization.
Intrepid Metals last traded at $0.74 on the TSX Venture.
