Kanye West Shows Up Uninvited, Gets Escorted Out of HQ of Skechers

Kanye West, or the rapper-entrepreneur currently known as Ye, is on a freefall. He was escorted out of the offices of casual footwear brand Skechers yesterday after showing up “unannounced and without invitation.”

This incident comes shortly after Adidas severed their ties with the rapper following a series of antisemitic outbursts in the past few weeks, which crescendoed in a now-deleted episode of Drinks Champs where he, among other things, taunted the brand and said “I can say antisemitic things, and Adidas can’t drop me. Now what?”

Well, here’s what.

Skechers swiftly issued a statement, denouncing the troubled celebrity, “Kanye West—also referred to as Ye—arrived unannounced and without invitation at one of Skechers’ corporate offices in Los Angeles.”

It’s unclear what Ye was doing in the offices, whether he was looking for a new collaborator, or something else, as the shoe company is run and founded by Jewish businessmen Robert and Michael Greenberg. The statement said that he was “engaged in unauthorized filming,” before he and his party were escorted out of the Manhattan Beach offices by two Skechers executives.

“Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West. We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech. The Company would like to again stress that West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices,” they said.
