Fox News is bringing former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt onto its airwaves just two days before the 2026 midterm elections, adding one of President Donald Trump’s most visible former spokespeople to the network while her previously announced role with a Trump-aligned super PAC remains publicly unresolved.
Fox News Media said Monday that Leavitt, 29, will become an on-air contributor beginning November 1, providing commentary across the network’s programming and platforms.
The November 3 federal general election falls two days later, according to the Federal Election Commission.
Leavitt served as Trump’s White House press secretary from January 2025 through August 2026 and was the youngest person to hold the position. Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said Leavitt’s White House and campaign experience gives her “a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape.”

Leavitt said she plans to bring the perspective and style she developed as press secretary to Fox’s audience. Fox Corporation, the parent of Fox News Media, trades two classes of common stock on Nasdaq.
The hire follows another political move Leavitt announced before leaving the administration. In August, she told reporters that she planned to return to MAGA Inc., the Trump-aligned super PAC where she had previously worked as a spokesperson before joining Trump’s 2024 campaign. Fox News reported at the time that Leavitt did not disclose what title or responsibilities she would hold at the group.
Monday’s Fox announcement does not address whether Leavitt currently works for MAGA Inc., whether she will continue working with the super PAC after November 1, or whether any restrictions will apply to her political activity while serving as a Fox contributor. No compensation terms for the Fox role were disclosed.
That distinction comes as Leavitt’s start date lands at the end of the 2026 campaign cycle. All 435 House seats are up for election this year, along with roughly one-third of the Senate.
Leavitt left the White House on August 27 after saying she could not continue meeting the demands of the press secretary role while giving her two young children the time she wanted to devote to them. The White House identified August 27 as her final day as the 36th press secretary.
Her move also extends a personnel pipeline between Fox and Trump’s political orbit. Former Trump press secretary Kayleigh McEnany joined Fox News in 2021 and remains with the network. In the opposite direction, Trump has recruited Fox personalities into government roles, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Fox did not disclose whether Leavitt will have a fixed program, how frequently she will appear, or whether her contributor role will include both news and opinion programming. The network said she will provide commentary across Fox News Media platforms.
