Kootenay Silver Hits 43 G/T Silver Over 30.85 Metres At Columba Project

Kootenay Silver (TSXV: KTN) this morning released results from its ongoing drill program at its Columba silver project in Chihuahua, Mexico. The assays pertain to the J-Z zone, which have confirmed the presence of high grade hydrothermal breccias, with the zone posting highlight values of 93 g/t silver over 11.6 metres, including 115 g/t silver over 8.3 metres.

Assays released this morning were for holes CDH-20-061 through to CDH-20-066 at the J-Z zone, with multiple holes hitting two separate mineralized zones. The J-Z zone measures 320 metres long, with an average width of 60 metres. The depth is said to extend to 460 metres, with the system remaining open laterally on strike and at depth. Continued groundwork suggests that that zone may in fact double in size to 800 metres in length.

Drill results from this morning include:

  • CDH-20-061 – 43 g/t silver over 30.85 meters, 54 g/t silver over 7.85 meters
  • CDH-20-062 – 93 g/t silver over 11.6 meters
  • CDH-20-063 – 762 g/t silver over 0.49 meters, 91 g/t silver over 9.0 meters
  • CDH-20-064 – 67 g/t silver over 7.69 meters
  • CDH-20-065 – 106 g/t silver over 7.0 meters
  • CDH-20-66 – 22 g/t silver over 19.0 meters, 69 g/t silver over 25.5 meters

The zone thus far has seen 4,587 metres of drilling conducted via 21 holes that has been drilled since 2019. Detailed geological mapping and a structural study are currently underway for the zone, while the prospecting team continues to sample mineralization at surface to better understand the structure of the zone. Once completed, a drill plan is to be assembled for the property to better establish the grade and size of the structure.
