NevGold Stakes Copper Project In Idaho Adjacent To Hercules Silver
NevGold Corp (TSXV: NAU) has staked new claims in Idaho in hopes of making the next big copper discovery. The claims are on trend to the recent major discovery made by Hercules Silver (TSXV: BIG), and are contiguous to certain claims held by Hercules.
Approximately 2,000 hectares of claims have been staked by NevGold 20 kilometres to the southwest of the copper porphyry identified by Hercules. The claims, to be referred to as the Zeus Copper Project, are adjacent to a project Hercules picked up last fall following its discovery and are said to exhibit signs of copper mineralization and copper porphyry alteration, which was identified during staking.
Exploration for 2024 at the property is said to include geological mapping, a geological database review, surface geochemical sampling, and geophysics. The company also suggested drilling could occur based on targets identified by initial exploration.

“We have spent significant time in the field completing the staking process, and our team has been encouraged by the numerous indications of a large copper porphyry system at Zeus. The work now begins to target the best part of the system,” commented Derick Unger, VP of Exploration.
Despite the new property being staked, the company has reiterated that its focus remains on oxide, heap-leach gold in the Western US, including its Nutmeg Mountain project in Idaho and its Limousine Butte project in Nevada.
NevGold last traded at $0.385 on the TSX Venture.
