New Found Gold (TSXV: NFG) has encountered high grade gold at the Dropkick Zone, which is part of the region that the company refers to as AFZ Peripheral. The zone is found to the west of the Appleton Fault Zone.
Highlights from the results include:
- NFGC-25-2317: 29.2 g/t gold over 9.25 metres from a depth of 120.75 metres
- NFGC-25-2373: 84.4 g/t gold over 2.00 metres from a depth of 239.00 metres
- NFGC-25-2390: 20.9 g/t gold over 11.10 metres from a depth of 68.45 metres
- NFGC-25-2394: 8.31 g/t gold over 18.20 metres from a depth of 40.30 metres
- NFGC-25-2448: 7.20 g/t gold over 10.15 metres from a depth of 400.70 metres
The results are said to have expanded the mineralized footprint of Dropkick to 815 metres along strike and to a depth of 285 metres, with the latest assays expanding strike by approximately 75 metres. The zone remains open both along strike and to depth, with ongoing step out drilling focused on expanding the fault zone along strike to the north and to the south. The zone is found 11 kilometres to the north of AFZ Core, and is the most northern discovery to date along the Appleton Fault.

“Located along the AFZ, 11 km north of AFZ Core, Dropkick clearly demonstrates the camp potential in our substantial landholdings at Queensway. We look forward to continuing to drill test Dropkick and other exciting new discoveries as part of our 2025 exploration program,” commented Melissa Render, President of New Found Gold.
The currently ongoing 70,000 metre drill program at Queensway is said to now be over 75% complete, with the program expected to wrap up by year end. An excavation program is also underway to excavate, map, and channel sample near surface zones of the AFZ Core.
