Amid our ongoing backlog of must-cover quarterly earnings is a name we haven’t previously covered. However, after a transaction with Newmont earlier this year materially changed their operational profile, we felt that the name basically became a must-cover within the mining sector.
Of course, we’re talking about Orla Mining (TSX: OLA), whom earlier this year closed on the $850 million Musselwhite Mine acquisition from Newmont. Q2 marked the first full quarter of production at the mine under Orla’s banner, and the results make that quite clear.
