Riot Blockchain Mines 425 Bitcoin In December 2021, Bats For 12.8 EH/s Hashrate In 2022

Riot Blockchain, Inc. (Nasdaq: RIOT) reported on Wednesday its production updates for December 2021. The results highlighted mining 425 bitcoin over the course of the month, a dip from its November 2021 production of 466 bitcoin but an increase over its December 2020 production of 98 bitcoin.

The company has produced a total of 3,812 bitcoin in 2021, pushing the digital asset up to 4,889 bitcoin held in custody as of December 31, 2021. This holds a value of US$267.3 million as of this writing.

The blockchain firm also purchased an additional 27,000 S19XP miners from Bitmain Technologies in a $301 million deal, increasing the company’s 2022 estimated hashrate capacity to 12.8 EH/s. The machines are expected to be delivered from July 2022 through December 2022.

Currently, the firm has a fleet of 29,593 miners, sustaining a 3.1 EH/s hashrate capacity.

In November 2021, the company reported its Q3 2021 financials, toplined by US$64.8 million in quarterly revenue.

Riot Blockchain last traded at US$21.44 on the Nasdaq.
