RooGold Assays 22.1 g/t Gold In Rock Chip Samples At Lorne Project
RooGold (CSE: ROO) earlier this week reported that it has received assays back from its first pass rock chip sampling program along the Peel Manning fault system in New South Wales, Australia. The latest results come from the firms Lorne property.
The program saw a total of 22 samples taken from the property at two separate prospects, the Brands Reef and Norton Mine. The highest results from the program were returned at Brands Reef, where the company saw a sample return 22.1 g/t gold, while other results included assays of 4.53 g/t gold and 4.02 g/t gold.
Overall, seven of the samples assayed at 0.45 g/t gold or higher, while four graded between 0.12 and 0.18 g/t gold, eight samples came in between 0.01 and 0.07 g/t gold, while three sampled lower than the detection limit. Further sampling is earmarked along a 10 kilometre strike, which includes 26 historic gold mines and prospects, at the property following land access being granted.
“The first pass prospect sampling at our Lorne Project has returned several high-grade gold results from historical workings that confirms the potential for significant mineralization. We have identified numerous other highly prospective gold targets within this tenement covering a further 10 km strike distance that our field team is looking to sample as soon as access is available,” commented CEO Carlos Espinosa.
The latest assay results follow the firm releasing select data on its sampling program at the Arthurs Seat project in June. That program saw a total of 274 rock chip samples collected, the results of which pointed to widespread low-level mineralization amid a larger hydrothermal mineral system.
RooGold last traded at $0.05 on the CSE.
