Silver Storm Sends First Concentrate to Market from Revived Mexican Mine

Silver Storm Mining (TSXV: SVRS) has shipped its first concentrate from the La Parrilla complex, a milestone that turns the once idle Mexican operation into a producing, revenue generating mine.

The company said Monday it dispatched 105 dry metric tonnes of lead-silver concentrate and 70 dry metric tonnes of zinc concentrate. The material moved under a previously announced offtake prepayment agreement with what Silver Storm described only as a globally recognized buyer.

“Our first concentrate shipment is a defining milestone for Silver Storm — real, saleable product from La Parrilla moving to market under our offtake agreement with a globally recognized company,” said Greg McKenzie, president and chief executive officer.

Concentrate will continue moving to market on an ongoing basis. Silver Storm plans to keep lifting throughput on its sulphide circuit toward a nameplate capacity of 1,250 tonnes per day, the pace at which management expects the operation to hit its stride.

The shipment marks a quiet turnaround for an asset with plenty of history behind it. La Parrilla ran continuously from 2005 until September 2019, when First Majestic Silver placed it on care and maintenance. It produced 34.3 million silver equivalent ounces over that stretch.

Silver Storm bought the complex outright in August 2023. The property spans roughly 38,000 hectares across 40 mining concessions and includes five underground mines, an open pit, and a plant able to process 2,000 tonnes per day.

Silver Storm Mining last traded at $0.425 on the TSX Venture.
