Starr Peak Exploration Begins 2021 Drill Program At NewMetal Property

Starr Peak Exploration (TSXV: STE) issued a brief release this morning, identifying that drilling has commenced on its NewMetal property in the Abitibi region of Quebec. The program is anticipated to be roughly 5,000 metres in size.

Drilling within the program is to be focused on what is referred to as the Main bloc of the property, which will cover the area of the past producing Normetal Mine, as well as the Normetmar showing. Initial drill targets are said to be focused on the Normetmar mineralization showing trend at depth.

The mine was originally in production from 1929 through to 1975, during that time processing 10.1 million tonnes of ore, which averaged 2.15% copper, 5.12% zinc, 0.549 g/t gold and 45.25 g/t silver.

“After months of preparation through historic data gathering and modern geophysics we are pleased to initiate our 2021 drilling program on our highly-prospective Newmétal property, neighbouring Amex Exploration’s Perron project. Our initial targets are focused on historically drilled and known mineralization showing trend at depth.”
