Suspected Maine Shooter’s X Account Has Allegedly Been Taken Down
X owner Elon Musk allegedly took down the X account of Robert Card, the suspect in two mass shootings that took at least 18 lives and left 13 other wounded in Lewiston, Maine on Wednesday night.
Shortly after the name of the suspect was released and the account was allegedly taken down, social media posts surfaced showing what purportedly is a list of Tweets that the suspect visited before the shooting.
Some of the Tweets, unfortunately not surprisingly, come from known right-wing characters like Tucker Carlson, Jordan Peterson, and Catturd2. But many of the Tweets were Musk’s himself, and some were his brother Kimbal’s.

Note that the source and veracity of these images and claims remain unconfirmed.
Who is Robert Card?
Authorities are intensifying efforts to locate Card. Initially labeled a person of interest, he has since been officially identified as the suspect in these tragic events.
As of Thursday morning, an arrest warrant has been issued for Card on eight counts of murder. Eight victims have been identified, and their families have been informed, with the number of counts expected to rise as more victims are identified.
Robert Card, aged 40 and hailing from Bowdoin, Maine, is described as 5’11” tall and weighing 230 pounds. Authorities have cautioned that he should be considered “armed and dangerous.” Card fled the scene following the shootings, prompting multiple shelter-in-place orders across the region as the manhunt unfolds.
Law enforcement agencies have released images of the suspect, appealing to the public for assistance in his apprehension. The Lewiston Police Department shared images depicting Card with a semiautomatic rifle at one of the shooting scenes. The weapon is described as an assault rifle with an extended magazine and scope, though the brand remains unknown.
Card is enlisted in the US Army Reserve as a petroleum supply specialist. While he has not participated in combat deployments, he has received several awards for his service. He has an active military ID.
Mental health concerns have also been raised, with reports of Card experiencing mental health issues, including hearing voices and making threats of violence towards a military base. In mid-July, authorities responded to erratic behavior, leading to his evaluation and commitment to a mental health facility for two weeks.
The shooting spree unfolded at Schemengees Bar and Grille and Sparetime Recreation, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals at the bowling alley and eight at the bar and grill. Governor Janet Mills, who communicated with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, vowed relentless pursuit of justice.
A “vehicle of interest” was recovered in Lisbon, Maine, matching a description of a vehicle Card was known to be driving. Law enforcement is also probing Card’s other registered vehicles, including a motorcycle and a boat. The search has expanded to waterways, including the northern shore of the river, but no sightings of Card have been reported since the night of the shootings.
Meanwhile, gun advocate and Beetlejuice fan Rep. Lauren Boebert cares so much that she misspelled Lewiston in her thoughts and prayers post on the shooting.
