Talon Metals (TSX: TLO) has seen extremely high grade assay results returned from drilling conducted at their Tamarack Nickel-Copper-Cobalt project in Minnesota.
The results come from a single drill hole that was previously announced to have intersected “historic” massive sulphide intercepts. Highlights from the results include:
- 25TK0563: 47.33 metres of 42.79% copper equivalent (11.40% copper, 11.01% nickel, 0.08% cobalt, 6.39 g/t palladium, 12.06 g/t platinum, 6.79 g/t gold, 33.54 g/t silver) from a depth of 762.34 metres
- Including 20.39 metres of 53.40% copper equivalent (14.68% copper, 13.11% nickel, 0.10% cobalt, 8.28 g/t palladium, 16.08 g/t platinum, 9.24 g/t gold, 42.13 g/t silver)
- Including 14.51 metres of 63.90% copper equivalent (16.34% copper, 17.32% nickel, 0.12% cobalt, 9.18 g/t palladium, 16.63 g/t platinum, 9.09 g/t gold, 46.52 g/t silver)
Hole 25TK0563 is said to have intersected two zones, including the upper MSU zone, which begins at a depth of 762.34 metres and saw an intersection of 53.40% copper equivalent over 20.39 metres, and the low MSU zone, which was intersected at a depth of 795.16 metres, with the intersect grading 63.90% copper equivalent over 14.51 metres.

The hole was a 68 metre step out to the east from previous drilling, which was targeting borehole electromagnetic anomalies identified in previous drill holes. Borehole electromagnetics are expected to be continued to be used moving forward as a guide for further drilling.
“A 34.9-meter intercept grading 28.88% nickel equivalent is truly world-class. Even when you compare it to historical data from globally significant nickel deposits, intercepts like this are few and far between. From a geologic perspective, this is a bonanza result by any standard,” commented Dean Rossell, Chief Geologist for Talon.
