President Donald Trump said Monday he plans to run for president of Venezuela once his current term ends, claiming he polls higher in the country than any politician in its history.
“After I’m finished with this, I can go to Venezuela,” Trump told reporters at a White House press conference. “I will quickly learn Spanish. It won’t take too long. I’m good at language, and I’m going to run for president.”
Trump: I'm polling higher than anybody has ever polled in Venezuela. So after I'm finished with this, I can go to Venezuela. I will quickly learn Spanish. It won't take too long. I'm good at language, and I will go to Venezuela. I'm going to run for president. pic.twitter.com/YlFJDlQxjG

Trump called the prospect a “wonderful option” and framed it as a natural next step given what he described as unprecedented popularity among Venezuelans.
The remarks came amid sweeping US involvement in Venezuela following the January 3 capture of President Nicolás Maduro by American special forces. Maduro remains in US custody facing terrorism and drug trafficking charges.

Delcy Rodríguez, Maduro’s former vice president, now serves as the country’s interim president. The Trump administration backed her appointment, citing her cooperation on oil access. The US is overseeing the sale of roughly 50 million barrels of Venezuelan oil — a deal potentially worth $2.5 billion.

It’s become hard to tell when Trump is saying things in jest. In January 2026, he posted a doctored Wikipedia-style image on Truth Social declaring himself “Acting President of Venezuela.”
Any genuine bid faces a hard constitutional wall. Articles 227 and 229 of Venezuela’s 1999 Constitution require the president to be Venezuelan by birth and bar foreign nationals from holding the office entirely.

Trump – “The Art of the Deal”: Iran requires rebuilding. Export your processed Uranium to the US in exchange for ending the war. This hypothetical scenario reflects a blend of economic strategy, diplomatic engagement, and complex negotiations. Each element would require careful consideration of global reactions and the intricate balance of power in the region.
Leverage: Utilizing the strengths of one party to gain concessions from the other. Win-Win Solutions: The principle that both parties should benefit from the deal to ensure sustainability and cooperation. Economic Sanctions Impact: Iran has faced extensive sanctions that have hampered its economy and infrastructure. Rebuilding efforts would focus on improving essential services, economic stability, and international relations. Financial support and infrastructure development could be strong incentives for Iran to comply with peace terms.
Case in coincidence: “According to the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, a ceasefire is declared on May 8–9, 2026,” the statement from the ministry said. The Russian Ministry of Defense expects Ukraine to “follow this example.” Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a separate ceasefire beginning on May 5-6, 2026.
He barely speaks English adequately but is good at languages and will quickly learn Spanish? Yikes!
He is good at language? He is barely able to speak English adequately.
