Magistrate Judge Lauren Louis, who reserved judgment after Andrew and Tristan Tate’s marathon bail hearing in August, ruled against them Wednesday. Hours later, the UK’s formal extradition request reached the US State Department, according to letters filed in their Miami case — a week ahead of Britain’s September 16 deadline.

The request lists five counts of rape, six counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, five counts tied to arranging travel for exploitation or sexual exploitation, and one count of penetrative sexual assault against Tristan Tate, 38.

Andrew Tate, 39, faces a longer list — ten counts of rape, seven counts of assault, five counts tied to arranging travel for exploitation, one count of controlling prostitution for gain, seven counts of distributing indecent images of a child, eight counts of making indecent images of a child, and four counts of possessing extreme pornography.
Combined, the two letters account for the full 59 charges British prosecutors have brought against the brothers, spanning conduct they allege took place between 2010 and 2017.
Citing their wealth and constant international travel, Louis called the brothers “quintessential flight risks,” unmoved, it seems, by the defense’s own case that the brothers exaggerate much of that wealth for their online audience.

They’ve remained at the Federal Detention Center in Miami since their July 18 arrest. Both brothers deny all charges. Their attorney, Joseph McBride, said after Wednesday’s ruling that “the process has been the punishment.”
The US case runs alongside a separate Romanian prosecution, where the brothers were newly indicted September 4 on sex trafficking and money laundering charges. Throughout the case, the Tates’ connections to Trump-world figures have drawn scrutiny — though the White House has said it won’t get involved.
