The Trump administration has ruled out any effort to stop the extradition of influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate to Britain, where the brothers face a mounting list of sex crime charges.
Asked at a Thursday briefing whether President Donald Trump or his administration planned to intervene in the process, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt answered with a single word. “No.”
The position leaves the brothers, both dual U.S. and British citizens and vocal Trump supporters, to fight their transfer through the American courts without help from an administration they publicly backed.

Speaking to reporters in the Philippines on Wednesday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio echoed that stance and kept the administration at arm’s length from the matter. “There’s no role for us to play at this moment or maybe ever in that regard,” he said.
Days after British prosecutors announced fresh charges of rape, sex trafficking and assault, U.S. authorities detained the Tates in Miami on Saturday. The pair now face 59 charges in total, 42 against Andrew and 17 against Tristan.
The brothers appeared in federal court on Monday for the first time since their arrest,. Another hearing was set for July 27 by U.S. Magistrate Lauren Louis, and a U.S. district judge is expected to rule in the coming weeks on whether the pair meet the conditions for extradition.
The brothers have repeatedly denied all wrongdoing.
