AbraSilver Resource Corp (TSX: ABRA) has increased the estimated mineral resources at their flagship Diablillos property in Argentina. The company this morning released an updated estimate, highlighted by a 25% increase in contained silver and a 14% increase in contained gold within the measured and indicated categories, which translates to a 27% increase in contained silver equivalent ounces.
Highlights from the results include:

- Measured: 26.5 million tonnes at 119 g/t silver, 0.71 g/t gold, or 183 g/t silver equivalent
- Containing 101.6 million ounces of silver, 604,000 ounces of gold, or 156.5 million ounces silver equivalent
- Indicated: 46.6 million tonnes at 56 g/t silver, 0.63 g/t gold, or 114 g/t silver equivalent
- Containing 84.4 million ounces of silver, 948,000 ounces of gold, or 170.6 million ounces silver equivalent
- Inferred: 9.7 million tonnes at 34 g/t silver, 0.57 g/t gold, or 86 g/t silver equivalent
- Containing 10.6 million ounces of silver, 176,000 ounces of gold, or 26.9 million ounces of silver equivalent
- Measured: 26.5 million tonnes at 119 g/t silver, 0.71 g/t gold, or 183 g/t silver equivalent
- Heap Leach
- Measured: 6.7 million tonnes at 16 g/t silver, 0.14 g/t gold, or 25 g/t silver equivalent
- Containing 3.5 million ounces of silver, 30,000 ounces of gold, or 5.3 million ounces silver equivalent
- Indicated: 24.1 million tonnes at 12 g/t silver, 0.17 g/t gold, or 23 g/.t silver equivalent
- Containing 9.2 million ounces of silver, 133,000 ounces of gold, or 17.5 million ounce silver equivalent
- Inferred: 10.0 million tonnes at 9 g/t silver, 0.20 g/t gold, or 21 g/t silver equivalent
- Containing 2.8 million ounces of silver, 64,000 ounces of gold, or 6.9 million ounces silver equivalent
- Measured: 6.7 million tonnes at 16 g/t silver, 0.14 g/t gold, or 25 g/t silver equivalent
On a combined basis, the Diabillos project now boasts 103.9 million tonnes at 59 g/t silver, 0.51 g/t gold, or 105 g/t silver equivalent within the measured and indicated category, containing 198.6 million ounces of silver, 1.7 million ounces of gold, or 349.9 million ounces of silver equivalent. Inferred resources add a further 19.6 million tonnes at 21 g/t silver, 0.38 g/t gold, or 53 g/t silver equivalent, which contains 13.4 million ounces of silver, 241,000 ounces of gold, or 33.5 million ounces of silver equivalent.
The large increase to resources follows this update including a maiden heap leach resource, which added a total of 31 million tonnes to the measured and indicated category, and a further 10.0 million tonnes to the inferred category. The category consists of lower grade material previously classified by AbraSilver as being waste.
