Big Gold (CSE: BG) has completed a unique infill sampling program under its phase two exploration program focused on the Tabor Property, near Thunder Bay, Ontario.

The sampling program took place at the MNDM Thunder Bay Core Library, which has historic drill core from the Thunder Bay Mining District. An infill sampling program was conducted by Big Gold on historic core collected at Tabor, which was drilled in 1983 by a prior operator in a program that was focused on the East Divide area. Notably, one of the holes intersected 0.76 metres of 24.3 g/t gold, 65.1 g/t silver, 0.82% copper and 3.68% zinc based on historic data.

A total of four drill cores were used for sampling, with the program collecting 60 samples from previously unsampled half-core, and a further 26 samples from previously sampled core which will provide confirmation of zones at the project. At the same time, the historic core was reviewed to confirm lithology, mineralization, alteration, veining, and structures.

“These four drill holes represent significant cost savings for the company, contributing to our comprehensive understanding of the geology and validation of drill targets for our upcoming program. The ongoing process of cutting and lab testing is underway, and we eagerly anticipate sharing our results with the market,” commented Scott Walters, CEO of Big Gold.

The program is expected to assist in reducing exploration and drill costs in the 2024 season.

Additional exploration under the phase two program is set to consist of surface exploration for further mapping and sampling, an IP survey of the project, and a drill program that is expected to expedited as a result of this infill sampling program.
