Can’t Afford Air Jordans? You Can Rent A Pair

A rent-to-own company is letting customers rent out $300 Air Jordan sneakers for $19.99 a week.

“A Rent-A-Center is renting out Jordans for $19.99 a week. These Air Jordan 5 Racer Blues sell for about $300 on secondary sneaker sites.

The offer is $375 to buy. After passing $375 in rental, there’s an offer to then buy the shoes for $525. And if you rent them a year, you keep them for $1,050,” sports business reporter Darren Rovell commented, aftering spotting the deal on Instagram and posting about it on X.

Air Jordan 5 Racer Blues, released in February 2022, sell in secondary markets for $200 to $300, and it’s known for its rare blue colorway. With Rent-A-Center’s rent-to-own model, which lets customers buy the leased product after a certain period of time has elapsed, it only really makes sense if you’re renting out the shoe short term.

You can also buy it from them on the spot, but that will set you back at least $75 more than its usual trading price aftermarket sites like StockX.
