Political backing continued to firm up inside the “Coalition of the Willing.” Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said, “We are working closely with President Zelenskyy and our partners to strengthen military and financial support for Ukraine, and secure lasting peace.”
In a readout, Ottawa said coalition leaders “welcomed the openness of the United States to providing security guarantees,” adding that the approach aligns with the principles that no decisions about Ukraine or Europe be taken without them.

Canada committed to further diplomatic engagement, tighter military and economic pressure on Russia, and close coordination with Kyiv on “robust and credible” guarantees.
Ottawa also highlighted humanitarian priorities that run parallel to the security track. As co-chair of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, Canada said it would intensify efforts to secure the “immediate and unconditional return” of abducted children.
