Did Usher Delete His Tweets After Diddy’s Arrest?

R&B singer Usher has addressed recent speculation surrounding his social media activity. The 45-year-old artist’s X account was completely wiped last week, raising eyebrows among fans and media outlets. This occurred shortly after his friend Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested on federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.

On Sunday, Usher took to X to explain the situation, claiming his account had been hacked. He playfully acknowledged the media frenzy, tweeting, “Account got hacked and damn y’all ran with it! See you tonight at Intuit Dome.”

Usher’s account was coincidentally wiped around the same time as Diddy’s high-profile arrest, which took place in New York last Monday. The arrest followed raids conducted in response to sexual lawsuits filed against Diddy, including one by his ex-girlfriend Cassandra Ventura in November 2023.

A hacker had allegedly taken over Usher’s X account to scam his loyal fans into buying a counterfeit meme coin on Solana’s PoS.

The speculation that the wipe was somehow connected to Diddy’s arrest is because their connection goes all the way back to Usher’s teenage years when he lived with the music mogul in New York City. In a 2016 interview with Howard Stern, Usher described his time there as “wild” and mentioned witnessing “very curious things.”

The indictment against Diddy alleges a range of criminal activities, including sex trafficking, forced labor, and kidnapping. It claims that Diddy abused and coerced women to fulfill his sexual desires and protect his reputation.

Rumors also circulated about actress Megan Fox and singer Pink. Some reports claimed that Fox had deleted her X content, but these assertions appear to be unfounded. Fox had stopped using the platform shortly after joining in 2013 — meaning there weren’t really any posts from then onwards to delete.

Similarly, singer Pink was rumored to have wiped her account in the wake of Diddy’s arrest. However, a context note on X clarified that Pink had actually deleted all but two of her posts earlier in the year, well before the current controversy.
