Gatekeeper Systems To Install Tech In 170 Buses In Alberta

Gatekeeper Systems (TSXV: GSI) yesterday revealed that they were expanding relationships with two school districts within the province of Alberta. The expansion comes hot off the heels of the firm receiving a $5.1 million purchase order from the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority.

The expanded relationships with see the company build out the school bus fleets for both of the schools, with a focus on protecting school children. With the two divisions currently existing customers of the company, the expansion is a testament to Gatekeeper’s current suite of offerings.

The contracts collectively will see 170 school buses outfitted with Gatekeeper’s technology. Products to be installed include mobile data collectors and internal video, while certain buses will also receive the firms stop-arm camera solution. To date, the company has installed 40,000 mobile data collectors and 100,000 video devices on school buses across 3,500 school districts.

“Our existing customers continue to expand our solutions throughout their fleets when they have budget to do so. School bus safety remains a top priority and our video and data offerings are very effective in helping to protect school children,” commented CEO Doug Dyment.

Financial details of the transactions were not provided.

Gatekeeper Systems last traded at $0.345 on the TSX Venture.
