K2 Gold Samples 23.4 g/t Gold, Discovers New Gold Zones At Mojave

K2 Gold Corporation (TSXV: KTO) announced this morning the preliminary results from its 2021 exploration program at the Mojave project in Southern California. Samples collected returned assays up to 23.4 g/t gold, which the company believes to indicate new zones of gold mineralization.

The exploration program is being conducted on five target areas in Mojave, namely Gold Valley, Dragonfly, Remi, Newmont, and Flores. From the 279 prospecting chip and grab samples collected, the company reported discoveries of new zones of mineralization following the results of the individual assays.

K2 Gold highlighted a discovery of three new zones of mineralization at the Flores area from which rock samples up to 23.4 g/t gold were collected. An additional zone of mineralization was also discovered at the Dragonfly area which returned rock samples up to 14.5 g/t gold.

To date, the company has collected over 700 rock samples and 657 soil samples from 13 target areas on the Mojave property. Details of the results will be “released in due course.” The company also intends to conduct a 10,000 metre drill program across thirty sites on the property, which is currently earmarked for the latter half of this year.
