Kevin Hart Takes Legal Action Against Former Assistant and YouTuber Over Cheating Allegations

Actor and comedian Kevin Hart has filed a lawsuit against his former personal assistant, Miesha Shakes, and YouTuber Latasha Kebe, known as Tasha K, following allegations of cheating and extortion.

Hart’s complaint, filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court, focuses on an online interview conducted by Kebe with Shakes, where serious accusations were made against the 44-year-old comedian. The interview, posted on Kebe’s Instagram account and YouTube channel Unwine with Tasha K on December 22, alleged that Hart had an affair at his office and had a gambling problem.

Shakes, who worked for Hart’s company from August 2017 to October 2020, also claimed to have informed Hart’s wife, Eniko, about the alleged infidelity.

The lawsuit contends that Kebe demanded a substantial sum of money, threatening to release the damaging interview if Hart did not comply. According to the complaint, in November, an individual “affiliated with Kebe” informed Hart’s representative that the interview would be made public unless a ransom of $250,000 was paid.

Hart, taking a firm stance against the alleged extortion, contacted the police and issued a cease and desist order to Kebe, citing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) between Shakes and himself. The lawsuit argues that releasing the interview would constitute intentional interference with contractual relations.

Apart from the violation of the NDA, Hart’s complaint asserts that the interview contained false and defamatory statements, including claims made by Shakes that were proven to be untrue. The lawsuit states, “The interview included false and defamatory statements regarding Hart and certain legal disputes in which he had been involved.”

Hart is pursuing legal action against both defendants, alleging civil extortion and invasion of privacy (public disclosure of private facts). Additionally, he is suing Shakes for breach of contract and defamation, while Kebe is facing charges of intentional interference with contractual relations.

In response to People’s request for comment, Kebe directed readers to watch the full interview on TashaKLive.com. Shakes, however, could not be reached for comment.

This is not the first time Kebe has faced legal repercussions for her content. In 2022, musician Cardi B won a libel case against Kebe, who was accused of making malicious claims against the rapper.

Hart, who has been open about past personal challenges, including a public apology in 2017 for cheating on his wife Eniko, is now navigating a legal battle to protect his reputation. In his Netflix documentary series, “Don’t F**k It Up,” Hart shared details about rebuilding his marriage after the highly publicized cheating scandal, describing it as “the lowest moment of my life.”
