Relay Medical Sees First Deployment of Fionet Software To Track COVID-19

Relay Medical (CSE: RELA) last night identified a significant development for its joint venture with Fio Corporation, announcing that delivery of its first Fionet COVID-19 tracking software has occurred. The software was delivered to the Meru County Ministry of Health, which operates in Meru County, Kenya.

Under the terms of the arranagement, the joint ventures software will be implemented across a network of 140 clinics within the health region, as it looks to manage and track community based infectious diseases, such as COVID-19. The tech, referred to as Patient Manager, will enable the health region to seamlessly handle patient registration, triage, consultation, lab and pharmacy functions.

The Fionet platform has already been utilized within Meru County’s Ministry of Health through community-based clinics, with the tech already having served 45,000 patients. The recent addition of Patient Manager modules will further strengthen the regions health system.

“Kenya is a leader in Africa, and Meru County is a leader in innovative mobile healthcare solutions in Kenya. We’re looking forward to Fionet being deployed across Meru and replicated elsewhere not only in Kenya, but also across Africa and other parts of the world including North America and Europe.”

Dr Michael Greenberg, CEO of FRR and of Fio Corporation

Relay and Fio have previously entered into a joint venture arrangement in August 2020 as a means of rapidly launching and deploying mobile COVID-19 testing and tracking through the Fionet platform, which has been developed specifically for community based settings.

Relay Medical last traded at $0.25 on the CSE.
