Lundin Gold Hits 173.98 g/t Gold Over 8.45 Metres

Lundin Gold (TSX: LUG) has seen substantial success in an exploration program conducted near its Fruta del Norte gold mine in southeastern Ecuador. The program has intersected the highest grade mineralization to date at the FDN South deposit.

Highlights from the results include:

  • UGE-S-24-185: 7.80 metres of 49.86 g/t gold from a depth of 59.00 metres
    • Including 4.50 metres of 83.48 g/t gold
  • UGE-S-24-212: 8.45 metres of 173.98 g/t gold from a depth of 77.60 metres
    • Including 2.50 metres of 572.47 g/t gold
  • UGE-S-24-213: 10.90 metres of 77.31 g/t gold from a depth of 94.80 metres
    • Including 2.10 metres of 394.78 g/t gold
  • FDNE-2024-200: 53.00 metres of 3.15 g/t gold from a depth of 277.80 metres
    • Including 8.40 metres of 7.13 g/t gold
  • UGE-E-24-210: 6.25 metres of 10.16 g/t gold from a depth of 238.85 metres
    • Including 3.25 metres of 14.84 g/t gold

Holes UGE-S-24-212 and UGE-S-24-313 are said to represent the highest grade intercepts recorded at the FDN South deposit, while indicating further areas of expansion for the deposits. The results demonstrate that the deposit remains open further to the south, with one drill rig currently drilling further holes in this direction, while two drill rigs are focused on converting ounces within the deposit to a higher resource category.

A minimum of 80,000 metres of drilling are planned for 2025 by Lundin Gold, with that exploration primarily targeting the FDNS and Bonza Sur deposits. 13 rigs in total are currently active on site.

Lundin Gold last traded at $39.67 on the TSX.
