United Lithium Contracts Second Drill For Ongoing Exploration Program

Hot off the heels of intersecting 47.75 metres of 1.34% Li2O and the extension of a spodumene-bearing pegmatite zone, United Lithium (CSE: ULTH) is looking to amp up its exploration in Sweden. The firm this morning announced that it will be doubling its current drilling production.

The drilling in question is at the firms Bergby lithium project, where drilling has been ongoing for months. A total of 42 drill holes had been completed as of January 20 on the project, with the company this morning stating that drilling is to continue through to 2022.

The second drill rig is expected to begin work next week. Once active, one drill is said to focus on exploration testing and step-out drilling. The second drill meanwhile will focus on infill drilling and extending known mineralization within the pegmatite found on the property.

Further, United Lithium is also said to be looking to add a third rig to the project, which will be capable of moving across rough terrain.

“We are pleased with the progress we have made since drilling started last fall, and recognize that the best stage of the mining cycle to compress time is exploration. With a large under-explored property with surface showings that are kilometres apart in areas littered with boulders has presented a mobility challenge, but the ingenuity of the Swedish drillers has provided solutions for us,” commented Michael Dehn, CEO.

United Lithium last traded at $0.51 on the TSX Venture.
