DPM Metals (TSX: DPM) has landed one of its most consequential drill holes in years, cutting more than 700 metres of high grade gold-copper porphyry mineralization right alongside its producing Chelopech mine.
The discovery, at a target the company calls Brevene South Porphyry, sits roughly one kilometre from existing reserves and butts up against the Chelopech concession.
Highlights from the results include:
- EX_BRESPO_03: 713 metres grading 2.52 g/t gold equivalent (1.31 g/t gold and 1.16% copper) from 1,172 metres depth
- Including 398 metres at 3.00 g/t gold equivalent (1.48 g/t gold and 1.45% copper) from 1,487 metres depth
- EX_BRES_555_02: 95 metres at 0.93 g/t gold equivalent (0.43 g/t gold and 0.48% copper) from 1,250 metres depth
- EX_BRES_555_02A: 37 metres at 1.19 g/t gold equivalent (0.53 g/t gold and 0.63% copper) from 1,357 metres depth
EX_BRESPO_03, the drilling for which is ongoing, has since pushed past 2,000 metres downhole and is still passing through altered, mineralized rock, pointing to a system with real vertical reach. A surrounding phyllic alteration envelope measuring more than 1,000 by 1,500 metres hints at a large hydrothermal system, and the target remains open in multiple directions. Drilling also remains ongoing for hole EX_BRES_555_02A.

“The Brevene South Porphyry target is emerging as a significant gold-copper discovery,” said President and Chief Executive Officer David Rae, who cast it as the company’s fourth notable find since 2023, after Čoka Rakita, Dumitru Potok and the Wedge Zone.
DPM has five high capacity rigs trained on the target and plans up to 15,000 metres of further drilling through the end of 2026 to map the footprint and test its economic potential. The wider exploration plan at the project meanwhile consists of seven drill additional drill rigs, which are focused on multiple target areas.
DPM Metals last traded at $45.97 on the TSX.
