Element 29 Sees Manuel Montoya Appointed To Leadership Team

FULL DISCLOSURE: This is sponsored content for Element 29 Resources.

Element 29 Resources (TSXV: ECU) appears to be in the process of rejigging its leadership team, having made several changes this week. The latest change is the addition of Manuel Montoya as Chief Technical Officer.

A key player in the GlobeTrotters Resource Group, Montoya is part of the team credited with the discovery of the Elida copper-molybdenum-silver deposit, Element29’s flagship asset, as well as the Atravezado copper-molybdenum target at Flor de Cobre. With over 35 years of experience as a geologist under his belt, Montoya has spent most of his career working in South America, working for outfits such as Cominco Peru, the Peruvian Geological Survey, and Teck Cominco.

Most relevant for Element 29, Montoya was the principal geologist for the Andes Exploration Group ran by Teck Resources, which focused on project generation and strategic planning for tier-1 porphyry copper projects in South America.

“Manuel’s long and deep experience exploring and making discoveries in Perú is a welcome addition to Element 29. As part of the GlobeTrotters team that made the initial discovery of our Elida deposit and Atravezado target at Flor de Cobre, he can hit the ground running as we aggressively advance these highly prospective copper projects,” commented Richard Osmond, CEO of Element 29.

The changes follow the appoint of Osmond as CEO earlier this week, taking over the role from Steve Stakiw. Osmond was previously Chairman of the company, prior to his appointment as CEO. At the same time, Paul Johnston resigned as VP of Exploration, and Peter Espig and Michael Doggett departed as directors, while Robert Willis, a professional engineer with over three decades of experience in the resource sector, was appointed as a director.

Element 29 last traded at $0.145 on the TSX Venture.
