First Phosphate Hits 64.2 Metres Of 8.4% P2O5 At Begin-Lamarche

First Phosphate (CSE: PHOS) has further assays in hand from recent drilling conducted at its Begin-Lamarche property in Quebec. The firm has received the assays on two additional holes drilled at the property.

Highlights from the drill results include:

  • BL-23-03: 64.2 metres of 8.4% P2O5, 4.4% TiO2,
    • and 17.8 metres of 5.8% P2O5, 4.1% TiO2,
    • and 18.0 metres of 5.3% P2O5, 4.1% TiO2.
  • BL-23-04: 40.2 metres of 5.1% P2O5, 2.7% TiO2,
    • and 8.0 metres of 8.3% P2O5, 4.5% TiO2.

Hole BL-23-03 is said to have extended the known mineralization in Layer 3 initially discovered in hole BL-23-02 100 metres to the west, with the mineralization extending on strike and along dip. A fourth layer meanwhile has been identified in BL-23-03 as well, which was intersected at a depth between 143.0 metres through to 201.0 metres.

“These drill results confirm the extension of the high grade phosphate layer discovered originally with hole BL-23-02 along with a new fourth layer. What is more, the company has now drilled 17 drill holes within the main 2,000 m magnetic trend and all of them carry phosphate layers ranging from a few meters to an excess of 100 m,” commented company President Peter Kent.

To date, 17 drill holes have now been drilled at Begin-Lamarche along the magnetic trend, with apatite layers reportedly identified in each drill core. Seven additional holes have seen samples delivered to the lab for assessment.

First Phosphate last traded at $0.74 on the CSE.
