Founders Metals Hits 2.29 g/t Gold Over 72 Metres At Van Gogh
Founders Metals (TSXV: FDR) has again intersected high grade gold mineralization at its Antino Gold project in Suriname. The company this morning released further assay results from an ongoing drill program at the project.
Highlights from the results include:
- VG004: 2.29 g/t gold over 72.0 metres from a depth of 177.0 metres
With the results of the latest drill hole, Founders has now confirmed that mineralization extends to a depth of 200 metres vertically at the new Van Gogh zone. Prior exploration had encountered gold mineralization on surface, and within a saprolite zone beginning at a depth of 18.6 metres. The company in February announced an intersection of 7.12 g/t gold over 28.5 metres within this zone, which was a 3.8 kilometre step out from the nearest drill hole on the property.
The new Van Gogh zone is said to be 2.0 kilometres from the Lawa zone, and 3.8 kilometres from the Da Vinci zone, within what is said to be an emerging multi-kilometre gold trend that could be as long as 15 kilometres. The new zone is said to be hosted in a subvertical mylonite zone, with true widths being within a range of 25 to 50+ metres.

It should also be highlighted that holes VG003 and VG002, which were drilled to test the continuity of the saprolite-hosted gold mineralization previously identified within a channel sample resulted in no significant assays. While similar shearing was identified, sulphide content was not present.
“The latest Van Gogh results further support the tier 1 discovery potential that Antino and our 2025 exploration program represents. Van Gogh is emerging as another key discovery, with characteristics most like Upper Antino,” commented CEO Colin Padget.
Four drill rigs are currently operational at Antino, with a fifth to be added to the program by mid-year. Given the success of drilling at Van Gogh and Da Vinci, the company has committed to allocating 50% of its current drill program to high-priority targets in new areas.
Founders Metals last traded at $5.50 on the TSX Venture.
