GameStop Is Building An NFT Platform On Ethereum

GameStop (NYSE: GME) has announced that the company is creating a team for a non-fungible token platform based on Ethereum. On Tuesday, patrons of the Reddit social media platform found a new portal on GameStop’s website called “nft.gamestop.com.” The title of the portal reads “Change The Game.”

When the portal is clicked on, you see something very similar to a GameBoy from the early 90s with the Ethereum Diamond on top. The GameBoy reads, “Power to the players. Power to the creators. Power to the collectors.” Other than that there’s very little to go by, so not much is known of this portal.

Details are scarce about what GameStop has in mind for this portal. They did however announce that they were seeking a security analyst with a background in blockchain, cryptocurrency, and NFTs, back in April.

GameStop commented saying that the company was welcoming “exceptional engineers (solidity, react, python), designers, gamers, marketers, and community leaders” to join the company’s NFT team.

GameStop (GME) last traded on the NYSE at US$244.70.
