Hut 8 Purchases 12,000 Bitcoin Miners For US$58.7 Million, To Augment Hashrate By 1.17 EH/s

Hut 8 Mining Corp. (TSX: HUT) reported this morning its purchase of 12,000 bitcoin miners. The acquisition is slated to increase the firm’s hashrate by 1.17 EH/s.

The purchase is reported to be worth US$58.7 million, approximately US$50 per terahash. Procured from Inchigle Technology Hong Kong, the new machines are composed of MicroBT M30S, M30S+, and M30S++ miners.

The delivery of the machines is expected to transpire throughout 2022, receiving 1,000 miners per month starting in January.

The purchase will bring the blockchain firm’s total capacity to 3.57 EH/s by the end of December 2022.

Hut 8 Mining Corp. last traded at $15.21 on the TSX.
