Mawson Resources Begins Exploration Work In Australia And Finland

Mawson Resources (TSX: MAW) is recommencing activities at its Finland and Australia projects. In the case of Finland, activities have restarted that includes fieldwork being conducted on site, while in Australia the company has initiated a new exploration program in search of gold mineralization.

Australian exploratory work includes reconnaissance exploration at Mawson’s Sunday Creek, Redcastle and Doctors Gully projects. At Sunday Creek, the company has relogged drill core data, which when mixed with initial field work, shows signs of upside potential for gold mineralization outside the previously mapped dyke rocks.

At the Redcastle and Doctors Gully projects, the company intends to conduct surface mapping, along with geochemical, geophysical and geological surveys. Drilling is expected to follow this process in the fourth quarter of 2020, with the size of such program being undisclosed.

At the firms Finland deposit, Mawson has mobilized a geophysical team to conduct fixed loop transit electromagnetic surveys. These surveys will be conducted along a 3 kilometre trend within the firms Hirvimaa permit. The target zone for surveying is 500 metres along strike from the Palokas resource area, which has demonstrated mineralization of 19.1 grams per tonne gold over 8.2 metres, along with 1,572 ppm cobalt at 266.9 metres, and 17.0 grams per tonne gold over 7.0 metres with 2,168 ppm cobalt from 251.4 metres.

Targets identified during this survey work will be drilled during the third and fourth quarters of 2020.

Mawson Resources last traded at $0.36 on the TSX.
