Outcrop Gold Begins 12,000 Metre Drill Program At Santa Ana

Outcrop Gold Corp (TSXV: OCG) this morning announced that it will be undertaking a 12,000 metre, third phase drill program at its flagship Santa Ana property, which has now commenced. The program follows the now-completed second phase program, which currently has assay results pending.

The drill program is set to focus on delineating five discovered shoots along strike and at depth, while also drill testing several greenfield targets. The company is currently looking to discover between five and seen new high grade shoots on the property.

In terms of greenfield discoveries, the company is currently drilling what is referred to as the San Antonio target, which is believed to be possible continuation of the Roberto Tovar shoot. Also being tested is the Palomos East target, which has seen sampling return values as high as 2.5 g/t gold and 713 g/t silver. Also targeted are Culebra and El Gordo.

Targets for drilling have reportedly been prioritized on a scale ranging from less advanced to those will good definition. Megapozo, La Ivana, and Roberto Tovar currently sit at the top of the firms priority, having passed first-pass drill definition. Three targets meanwhile have had discovery holes conducted, seven have had no drilling yet considered high priority, and a further fifteen are of preliminary interest.

Targets are ranked based on prospectivity and the potential for high-grade shoots, which is based on data compiled for the property. The company is currently targeting for ten to twelve defined shoots in total for the 2021 season, after which the company is to move towards potential resource definition.
