Petition to Get Rid of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau May Be the Largest Online Petition Ever in Canada — But Can It Succeed?

A groundswell of discontent is sweeping across Canada as citizens express their frustration with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s leadership, with over 286,000 Canadians signing petition e-4701 as of this writing.

The petition, sponsored by Conservative Member of the Parliament Michelle Ferreri who represents the district of Peterborough-Kawartha, calls for a vote of non-confidence to be brought at the House of Commons. And if won, the petition asks for a snap federal election within 45 days.

The petition says that the current government is not acting in the best interests of its citizens, and that “the policies of this government aren’t aligning with the crisis Canada is facing: housing costs, infringement of civil liberties, highest inflation in history, unbalanced immigration policies, taxation to the point of poverty, weakening of our economy by importing natural resources that Canada already has and under-utilizes.”

It emphasizes a lack of confidence in Trudeau, citing five ethics investigations and “Canada’s reputation being tarnished on a global scale under his leadership.”

In starting this petition, Ferrari harps on the frustrations of many Canadians: on top of the housing crisis, inflation has surged post-COVID-19, leading to a record number of Canadians relying on food banks. Trudeau’s carbon tax, aimed at environmental goals, further burdens citizens and has become deeply unpopular, with a majority calling for its removal or postponement.

But Ferreri also misleads: with the current numbers in the House of Commons — where the Liberals hold 158 seats, while Ferreri’s Conservative colleagues only have 117 — a vote of no confidence is all but far-fetched.

What it succeeds in doing, as James Carafano of the Heritage Foundation said in the European Conservative, is embarrassing the Liberals and the NDP (with whom the Liberals have a confidence and supply agreement).

The petition, while driving the point that Canada is ready — if not hungry — for a new leader, doesn’t provide real actionable solutions, and until there are, it will be a long wait still for its citizens. The next general election isn’t until October 2025 – unless a vote of no confidence succeeds.

It is unfortunaste that the only way I can see geting rid of Trudeau before 2025 might be a violenyt revolt of the citizens of Canada. Which is why he pushed so hard for bill C-21 to be passed into law now we are legally being disarmed and trhere is nothing we can do about it to fight back The senate in Canada is a joke and failed as the last check and balance for the people and is only looking out for he interests of the government no matter what oppressive bill was put before them they have passed them and when there has been a bill that would help canadians they defeat them example bill C-324 that would have paused the carbon tax for farmers to help the cost of foods defeated yet bill C-11 and C-18 both for the suppression of online freedoms and internet censorship andf bill C-21 to make it illegalk to own legally purchased firearms thatthey want to come and confiscate illegally all passed so how can we fight back other than with a violent revolt against this government? we tried a peaceful protest and they just enacted the emergencies Acxt and made protests illegal despite it being a right in our charter of rights and freedoms. He hjas done a great job of destroying this once great country in less than a decade and I am not sure if the devide he has created can be fixed or if he has succeeded in destroying this country beyond repair our military has been gutted and most of it’s weapons and funding given to Ukrain all while slashing it’s budget by over a billiuon dollars so we are no longer a viable member of NATO and Iwouldn’t be surprised if we are asked to leave by our”allies” which he has also aklienated us from, we are no longer invited to participate in talks with our supposed closest “allies” and are left out of almost all meeting between our allies because we cannot be trusted any longer due to Trudeau close ties to the communist party of China and his admiration for their dictatorship hence why he is doing everything in jhis power to make canadainto his own China that he can rule over like his father used to rule over Cuba. So in the end he is trying to make Canada into the next communist state in the image of China and Cuba and he is doing a bang up job of it and will most likely succeed if not removed from power before t2025 because the longer we leave this the greater the chance he can disolve Parliament and declare hiomself the new leader without any kind of election or he will just fix the nexty election and make himself the leader for the foreseable future and just change the law so that no one can remove him from power unless he wants to relenquish it and I don’t see that happening anytime soon do you?

Trudeau needs to go. So do the Liberals and the NDP. None of these people are looking out for Canadians. They’re stabbing their voters in the back and they’ve turned Canada into a cesspool of chaos and corruption. Enough is enough already. The latest decision to side with Hamas once again demonstrates Trudeau and the rest of the government is not acting in the best interest of the Canadian people. Whatever happened to staying out of other people’s business? What Trudeau has just done was throw Canada into a more real possibility of a civil war. As extreme as it sounds, that’s exactly what’s happening her. Before Trudeau, Canada was respected. Since Trudeau, Canada has become the laughing stock among the nations. He needs to go.

It is the same situation here in the US. It’s radical Leftists and the Marxist Democrat Party with help from the Deep State and Civil War becomes a real possibility for both our countries.
