QYOU Media Obtains Exclusive Rights To Five New Comedy Series

QYOU Media (TSXV: QYOU) this morning announced that it is working towards creating more original content for its flagship channel, The Q India. The company is reportedly in the process of launching five new comedy series that are to be exclusive to its channel.

Featuring several of the fastest rising YouTube stars within the country, the programs are slated to begin launching in July and August 2021. Among the new series are television shows that feature YouTube stars with over 8 million subscribers, and over 2.0 billion views on the popular video platform.

Additional series will focus on the younger population, with two of the fastest growing young stars set to appear in their own series. The company meanwhile has obtained exclusive rights to three social comedy series as well.

“This is another huge content win for the channel as we continue to lock up top social stars with TV series exclusively available on The Q.  Our programming and acquisitions team led by Sunder Aaron and Tanya Shukla is delivering hit shows from social media stars with millions and millions of followers. That is driving our success to date and we aren’t satisfied averaging 45 GRP and know that these deals will drive our future growth.”

Curt Marvis, CEO of QYOU Media

The company this morning also indicated that its viewership continues to remain elevated, with the channel averaging 45 GRP for a total of eleven consecutive weeks. The firm continues to focus on comedy, which has been a major driver behind its growth as of late, with a focus on original content and hit programming expected to further drive growth.

QYOU Media last traded at $0.325 on the TSX Venture.
