Relay Medical Sees Joint Venture Awarded USAID Contract In Africa

Relay Medical Corp (CSE: RELA) continues to see success with its joint venture with that of Fio Corp. Referred to as the Fionet Rapid Response Group, the venture last night announced that it ahs entered into a sales agreement with that of the US Agency For International Development (USAID) to deploy their technology to over 100 community healthcare locations across Africa.

The arrangement will see the firms Fionet Pandemic Platform deployed at over 100 community healthcare sites across the continent. The deployment is anticipated to support widespread rapid testing, triage, and real time tracking of infectious disease. Fionet devices are to assist in automating frontline healthcare tasks, while capturing and transmitting data in real time.

The contract has a value of roughly C$330,000, with the contract being awarded following data that was presented to the American Society of Tropical Medicine just two weeks ago. The data revealed that Fionet devices detected malaria positive testing rates that “were substantially different from nearby clinics that didn’t use Fionet.” Once scientific analysis supported the Fionet results, the data was presented as a means of measuring the true levels of cases, incidence and treatments.

“This engagement supports the extensive available evidence that our platform provides accurate testing, triage, and tracking that can be deployed in the community, rather than being confined to the limitations of overburdened hospitals and centralized labs. This capability is indispensable to the effective management of infectious disease and COVID pandemic control.”

Dr Michael Greenberg, CEO of Relay’s joint venture

Relay Medical Corp last traded at $0.215 on the CSE.
