Suspect Named, Arrested for Cash App Founder Bob Lee’s Stabbing
The San Francisco Police Department has reportedly arrested a man in the April 4 stabbing of Cash App founder Bob Lee. The arrest was made early Thursday morning and was first reported by Mission Local.
The publication identified the man as Nima Momeni, and they connected the name and address in the warrant to the owner of the company Expand IT.
Momeni may have attended the same tech conference that Lee, who recently moved to Miami, was in San Francisco for. According to the Daily Mail, the two men, who were familiar with each other, were seen in a car together at around 2:30 a.m., shortly before the stabbing. The car was registered to Momeni.
Police sources say that the two men had some sort of confrontation that led to the attack, and somehow Lee left the vehicle. A nearby surveillance camera was able to record Lee struggling to walk.
According to a report from the San Francisco Police Department, officers responding to the 300 block of Main Street found a 43-year-old man suffering from stab wounds at around 2:35 a.m.. Lee was transported to the local hospital but succumbed to his injuries later in the morning.
Lee had suffered two stab wounds to the chest, the police said. He was able to call 911 for help before he collapsed on a Rincon Hill sidewalk.
